Week 5 - Let’s Get Baking!
If there is one thing we love here at Honeywell HQ it is baking. This week we’re diving into homemade chocolate chip cookies with a gooey recipe (below), championing our favourite baking kit for kids to try - the Beehive Scone Baking Kit, and creating bee bookmarks to save our favourite baking recipes.
One of our easiest baking kits for kids is the Beehive Scones.
Kids can have fun mixing ingredients, patting down soft dough and cutting out circles to create their scones, a great bake to nurture a love of baking.
Every kit includes a packet of wildflower seeds to grow at home, so the bees can have their very own delicious feast too!

90g Salted Butter, softened
70g Soft Light Brown Sugar
90g Granulated Sugar
1 Medium Egg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
160g Self-raising Flour
100g Bake Stable Milk Chocolate Chunks
- Cream together soft butter, light brown sugar and granulated sugar.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix to combine.
- Stir in the flour and chocolate chunks – until just combined, be careful not to overmix.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Use an ice-cream scoop to make mounds of cookie dough toto a baking tray, leaving space in between for them to spread in the oven.
- Bake at 160C for 12 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and scatter a few choc chunks on each cookie, bake for a further 3 minutes.
- Leave to cool, and enjoy!
