It was my lovely little God-daughter Annabelle’s christening yesterday, and guess what, I was asked to bring cake. It’s a fair enough swap, her Mum has done us plenty of favours (like the street illustration we have as our website navigation bar). As the cake needed to travel from York to Canterbury, it needed to be simple. So here it is, a naked cake – carrot cake bottom layer with a maple buttercream, and lemon drizzle top tier with a lemon buttercream, covered in plenty of berries of course.
