Banana & Chocolate Chip Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
Method
Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas, peeled
- 250g golden caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 140g softened butter
- 250g plain flour
- 4 tablespoons Cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 100g milk chocolate chips
- 100g white chocolate chips
- 1 Pot of ‘Bonne Maman’ chocolate spread (Nutella would work just as well)
Method
- Heat an oven to 190C/170C fan. Line a large loaf tin with baking parchment.
- In a large bowl, mash together the bananas and the sugar. Add the eggs and mix together well before adding the butter for a final mix.
- Sieve in the flour and baking powder and using a spatula begin to fold the mixture over until it combines. Add the chocolate chips and stir through at the end.
- Pour into your lined loaf tin and pop into a preheated oven for 1hr. The loaf is baked when a clean knife inserted into the middle comes out clean.
- Leave to cool before removing from the tin.
- Once cool, pop onto a serving tray and slather on a generous amount of Bonne Maman chocolate spread (or Nutella!) sweeping your knife from left to right to create a gorgeous icing.
- Sprinkle with a few extra chocolate chips for a little extra jazz!
